To Everything There Is a Season
“To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under Heaven.” These words from the book of Ecclesiastes are as true in a Southern Gospel group as they are in any other area of life. Aseason of our ministry has come to an end and a new season is now beginning.
It is always hard when a person leaves a group for whatever reason, and we have faced that situation much more than I would have liked in the last couple of months.
Mark Lackey has decided to come off the road. Mark has served CrossPoint as tenor singer since the group started. Kevin and I have sung with him for years prior to CrossPoint’s inception. This was a hard one to take, but we understood and appreciate his reasons. While he feels he is in God’s will for his life he says he will truly miss meeting new friends and singing the music he loves. He will however make limited appearances with the legendary TO and Rachel Miller.
Zack Swain informed us that he is going back to school and does not feel he can devote himself properly to his studies if he is on the road as much as we are. Therefore he felt he needed to resign from his position as pianist for CrossPoint. We completely support him in furthering his
education and wish him all the best. Zack is currently booking solo dates. Check out his new website at zackswain.com.
At about the same time, Adam Robbins decided he needed to take a break from the road. His business (Precision Electric) has picked up and he felt he needed to devote more time to his work and his family or a while. He has not resigned and will still make some appearances with
CrossPoint but it will be on a limited basis for the time being. We support Adam in his decision and welcome him to join us anytime his schedule will allow.
So, where does that leave us? Well, Kevin and I prayed about our next step and our answer came in the form of an old friend. Brian Clark, formerly of Southern Heritage and The Arkansans has filled the open tenor position. (see bio in this newsletter) CrossPoint started as a trio and we have now come full circle to be a trio once again. In the meantime we know you will not be disappointed with the latest addition to CrossPoint.
Please continue to pray for CrossPoint as we make these transitions and especially pray for Adam, Zack and Mark as they move on to their new areas of ministry. We still love and appreciate these guys. They will always be a part of CrossPoint.

Horizon Group of the Year Award

Back On the Road - April 2007
It’s that time of year again!
The trees are blooming, the leaves are turning green, and pollen fills the air as well as our noses and throats. This year has gotten off to a pretty good start. We’ve had two great trips to Texas. The first trip, we found ourselves in Dallas. CrossPoint had the great honor of sharing the stage with some fine groups such as Trusting Hymn, Chris Binion, and dear friends His Call. What an awesome time we had.
The second trip we were lucky to find ourselves in San Antonio. We had one of the greatest honors of
attending our first ever South Texas Gospel Music Association Convention. WOW!!! The groups were so great to welcome us. The convention committee opened their arms to make CrossPoint feel right at home. I can’t go without mentioning that all us fat boys ate really well!
Also, we almost fell out of our seats when our group was named “Horizon Group of the Year” by the STGMA.
CrossPoint has several exciting concerts in the upcoming months. We are excited to attend Charlie
Waller’s American Gospel Favorites. We will get to share the stage with The Dove Brothers and The Melody Boys.
Take a look at our schedule to see if we’ll be in your area. Come’on and spend an exciting and upbeat evening with us.
Look forward to seeing you real soon!
Adam
God is simply AMAZING!
God is simply AMAZING! I wish I could tell you of all the miracles that I have seen in the last three months but to do so would take up this whole newsletter.
On January 31st Gabriel Adam Cleghorn was born into this world very prematurely. He was 26 weeks but was only the size of a 24 week baby. He weighed 1 lb. 2 1/2 oz and was a whopping 11 3/4 inches long. Let me back up a little though. I had struggled with the fact that our bookings were very minimal in February and those that we did have canceled on us. At least all but two. Frankly that irritated me and then I got the call that Kelly was being admitted to the hospital until the baby was born and that we may even lose our son. You can see what kind of shape I was in
for a while. We were told by our physicians and the neonatologist of all the complications a baby this size would have which included brain bleeds, deformities, neurological deficits and so forth.
God put the right people in place from the word go and we truly had a peace that passes all understanding. In all the turmoil that led to Gabriel's entrance, there was a peace about it all. I simply sat back and said "ok God, You're in control" and He has been. To this date, Gabriel has presented with no abnormalities, not one cranial bleed, and no birth deficits. He has had a couple of minor set backs in the last couple of months, but for the most part is extremely healthy and at the time of this writing weighs 3 lbs. 15 oz.
Thank you all for your prayers, phone calls and cards that have been sent. We love you guys and pray you will celebrate with us in the blessings that Kelly, Kyle, Cole and I have received since January 31, 2007.
