Meet the Guys

The date was July 15, 2005. Rain was falling at the outdoor amphitheater, but there was still an excitement in the air. Well, at least to three people. This was the debut of CrossPoint. The group then consisted of Damon Cleghorn (lead), Kevin Cleghorn (baritone) and Mark Lackey (tenor). The legendary T.O. Miller accompanied the trio at the piano. They would soon add pianist Zack Swain and a month later, bass vocalist Adam Robbins.

Since that wet, sweltering night, CrossPoint Quartet has ministered through eight states in churches and auditoriums of every size. Whether singing to one hundred or one thousand, the message remains the same, redemption, victory and joy through the blood of Jesus Christ.

CrossPoint Quartet consists of five men who share a passion for God and Southern Gospel Music. Their desire is to see souls brought into the Kingdom of God and to see Christ glorified in their music. A major part of their ministry is to bring laughter and joy to the church body. “When we walk into a church we bring in the weight of the world,” says Kevin. “If we can lay it down and enjoy the presence of God in laughter and fun, then we have accomplished something. After all, the bible says that laughter does the heart good as medicine.”

Their musical style is a nice blend of today’s southern gospel music and the classics. “There are so many legends who have paved the way for us to do what we do.” Says Damon. “It is important for us to pay tribute to these legends.” You will also hear good old convention style singing as well as some original music written by Damon Cleghorn and various other writers.

CrossPoint has had the honor of sharing the stage with such artists as Brian Free and Assurance, The Florida Boys, The Kingdom Heirs, Palmetto State, The Dove Brothers, The Melody Boys and many, many more. They have participated in such events as The Grand Ole Gospel Reunion, America’s Gospel Favorites and the Deep South Regional Quartet Convention.
